The early stages of the BA programme in English focus on improving your language skills and introducing you to the literatures, societies and cultures of the English-speaking world. As you advance in the programme, you will have an opportunity to specialise based on your interests, and there are excellent opportunities for studying abroad or finding a work placement in an English-speaking country. On the BA programme in English, all teaching takes place in English. English literature is a central focus of the degree programme, and you will work with a wide variety of texts from different periods - from the first texts in English to classic works by Dickens and Shakespeare and exciting contemporary works.
