Students learn to report the news across print and digital platforms in our Journalism major. You ll start with courses in writing, online journalism, and media law. Then you can choose a concentration in either broadcast Journalism or Print/Web Journalism. Both the Print and Broadcast Journalism concentrations prepare students for careers in the field of Journalism, as well as for graduate studies. On the Print/Web side, you ll gain universal skills that can be applied in print and online, including reporting, feature writing, criticism and copyediting. Our students regularly intern at The Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Boston Magazine, Metro Newspaper, among other print outlets, as well as for a wide variety of online news and sports publications.
Common Application or Suffolk Application, Essay/ Personal statement, Official high school transcript or GED/HiSET results, Letter of recommendation,Test scores: TOEFL minimum is a 79, IELTS a 6.5, PTE-Academic with a minimum score of 54, ACT and SAT scores, First Language English Exams in the IGCSE or GCSE or AS/A-Level Predicted/Actual results, IB HL English Predicted scores (if provided by your High School).
