The Statistics program provides a significant focus on data collection and statistical analysis. Students are taught the basics how to collect and analyze data. By learning the theories, methods and technological aspects of statistics, students in the program apply the concepts they learn towards vital social issues, including:Medical researchEnvironmental risk assessmentDevelopment of therapeutic drugsSpace explorationQuality assurancePoverty and homelessnessEconomic forecasting and business issuesThe degree is offered as either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science. The B.S. can be earned with one of two focuses: statistical computing or quantitative management. Offered through the Department of Statistics in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences.
