The program in Arts Entrepreneurship helps students develop the skills required for creating market-based opportunities in the arts, such as starting a performing arts business, promoting their work as artists, leading arts-based ventures, and sustaining an arts-based career. The program will help you prepare for careers in marketing, publicity, fundraising, financial management, and artist management in the arts or in entertainment.The program is offered by the Division of Performing Arts in partnership with the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center in the Tippie College of Business.

You'll take entrepreneurship courses in accounting, financial management, and marketing; as well as courses on arts management and leadership practices in commercial and nonprofit arts organization. You also must take courses in dance, music, or theatre arts and complete an internship in an arts organization.
