This specialisation exposes students to methodologies required for secure network planning and design, encompassing principles of topological design, network-synthesis, and network-realisation. These provide students with in-demand commercial-ready skills in systems integration and security development. Students are taughta mix of qualitative and quantitative methodologies for evaluating IT security systems. In a final capstone project they 'stress-test' these systems, subjecting them to various attack scenariosto identify various underlying vulnerabilities. The most important outcome of these methodologies is the ranking of the vulnerability and criticality of IT systems specifically to threats based on various rational measures and controls by examining the consequences of such attacks.
