This field focuses on the occurrence, distribution, cause, prevention, control, monitoring and surveillance of animal diseases. In research, epidemiological data analyses are used to explain and correlate the incidence of various risk factors with animal disease and those related to public health, such as emerging and marginalised zoonoses. Emphasis is given to research on disease-resistance, antibiotic residues in food and food safety. Among studies conducted include food quality and animal-based process control, microbial risk assessment and hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP).

A Master Degree (by coursework) in a relevant field with a minimum grade average of B, or a Master Degree by research in a relevant field; oran outstanding Bachelor's degree with minimum CGPA 3.750 or equivalent to a First Class degree, Degree certificates of Bachelor, Transcript of Bachelor Degree, Research Proposal, TOEFL ibT of 80, IELTS of 6.0
