The Department of Communication Disorders offers the professional clinical degree: the Doctor of Audiology (AuD). As opposed to the PhD research degree, the AuD is a clinical practice degree. The degree program is offered in cooperation with the Auburn University at Montgomery Speech and Hearing Clinic. Most graduates of the AuD program work in clinical settings, such as major hospitals, ENT practice clinics, and private practice facilities. A few graduates teach in the clinical programs in academic institutions.
