School History & Details

Burnside Public School was established in the year 1922. Her Excellency Lady Forster, who was the wife of Henry Forster, the governor general at the time, opened the school on April 21, 1922. For many years, it was known as the Murdoch School. As a central school, Burnside could accommodate pupils up to the Intermediate level. On March 24, 1924, NSW Premier George Fuller officially opened the new wing that had been added to the school.
