Auburn University History

Auburn University also known as Auburn or AU is an American private higher education establishment located in Auburn, Alabama. The university was established as East Alabama Male College  and was renamed to Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama in 1872. The university changed its name again to Alabama Polytechnic Institute subsequently adopting its present name in 1960. It currently enrols over 24000 students.
