University History

Duquesne University is a Private Research University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The University was founded in the year 1878 by the Spiritan Congregation. The university first started as a school for the poor immigrants of Pittsburgh but today it is one of the renowned Universities of Pittsburgh that is home to around 10,000 students. The University first began with its school of law and now it has almost ten schools of study. The university is very well known for its magnificent campus.

Admission process

How to apply? 

Required documents for International Undergraduate students are as follows:

  1. Completed Application
  2. Transcripts
  • Original or attested copies of official academic records from the last four years of your education.
  • Credentials should be submitted in the native language with certified English translations and sent directly from the school and/or university you attended. Photocopies are not considered official.
  • Scanned copies are accepted for evaluation of your application, but originals must be received before you begin classes at Duquesne.
  • If you have enrolled in an ESL program in the United States, you also must submit the ESL transcripts.

International undergraduate students can apply in one of two ways:

Scholarships for International Students

Duquesne University Scholarships for International Students gives the students good financial support. The Undergraduate International students are directly accepted for the merit-based scholarship. International students are eligible to apply for the Libermann Scholarship. The scholarship committee will look at the entire application and supporting documents to determine the award amount. Students who receive the scholarship usually get in between $5,000 to $22,000 per academic year. It is renewable for four years of study.
