Mississippi State University was established in the year 1878. The university initially started as The Agricultural and Mechanical College of the State of Mississippi. The university was established with the motive that it can provide training in agriculture. In 1932, the university was named as Mississippi State College and then later in 1958, it became the Mississippi State University.
