North Carolina State University

North Carolina State University is a research based public land- Grant University located in Raleigh. It is the largest university in the Carolinas. North Carolina State University forms one of the corners of the Research Triangle together with Duke University in Durham and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. North Carolina State University, History

North Carolina State University was established in 1887 by the North Carolina General Assembly as North Carolina College of Arts and Mechanic Arts. In 1917, it changed its name to North Carolina State College of Agriculture and became University of North Carolina in 1931.

SPORTS AND FITNESS 

North Carolina State University’s sports teams are known as the Wolfpack. They compete as a member of NCAA Division I. The university has won nine national championships: three NCAA championships and four titles under other sanctioning bodies.

The A. Gordon and Patricia L. Neville Animal Science Scholarship is awarded to the 4th year Animal Science student majoring in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University.
