The full name of Rice University is William Marsh Rice University. Rice University is a private research university in Houston, Texas. Rice University is built on a 300-acre campus. Rice University was established on 23rd  September 1912.

Rice University is named after William Marsh Rice, a businessman from Massachusetts. Rice University is divided into eleven residential colleges and eight schools of academic study. The university currently has 7289 students out of which 3989 are undergraduates and 3293 are post-graduates.

Student Safety

Crime Around the Area

RUPD looks after the safety of the students on the campus. It looks after on-campus patrolling, reporting fires and safety hazards and controlling on-campus traffic. All the crimes such as sexual misconduct, assaults and traffic accidents are reported to RUPCD. The RUPD takes the required action. RUPD also looks after services such as escorting and car services or and unlocking building and door rooms. The helpline number is 713-348-6000.
