University History
Syracuse University is located in Syracuse, New York. The university is a private research institution. It was founded in the year 1831 by the Methodist Episcopal Church in Lima, New York. The university first began with the school of Liberal Arts and then grew rapidly after World War II. The University was the first in the nation to offer a bachelor of the fine arts degree. The University paved a way for the women way back in 1870 and is home to many great pioneers in different fields.

Campus
Syracuse University Campus located in the heart of Syracuse, New York. The main campus of the University is also known as the “North Campus”. The Comstock Tract Buildings, a historic district of older buildings, appeared on the list of National Register of Historic Places. South campus
There are some residences in the south campus. Besides that, South Campus is also home to the Institute for Sensory Research, Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion, Goldstein Student Center, Skytop Office Building, 621 Skytop Road.
