University of Missouri was established in 1839 in Columbia. University of Missouri was the first public university west of the Mississippi River. University Infrastructure & Services

Campus

The campus of the University of Missouri is spread over 1,262-acre of land just nearby south of Downtown Columbia and is known as a botanical garden in the Columbia. The historical campus of university of Missouri is placed on Francis Quadrangle, a historic district of the National Register of Historic Places. The academic buildings of the campus are separated into two main campuses: Red Campus and White Campus. The University of Missouri has nearly about 50 national social circles many of which involves historical residence houses.

Libraries

University of Missouri Libraries provides many services and resources student and faculty needs in teaching, learning and research assignments. There are many libraries present at University of Missouri- Ellis Library, Engineering Library, Geological Library, Health Sciences Library and Journalism Library and there many other libraries are located in the University. University’s libraries provide support for education and research by fulfilling needs of both faculty and students. These libraries also support virtual learning. Students also translate their coursework into practical experience.

Housing services

The University of Missouri has 23 on-campus housing services, provides residence halls and two off-campus housing areas. The two off-campus housing include: Tiger Diggs at Campus View Apartments and True Scholars Houses. Most of the residence halls on campus provide learning communities and freshmen of similar interest. Three of the older halls are: Jones, Lathrop, and Laws. The three halls can accommodate about 1,010 students. The housing services at University of Missouri offer a variety of affordable living and learning and also make students feel like home.
