University of San Diego
The University of San Diego (USD) is a private university which is located in San Diego, California, USA. The autonomous San Diego College for Women and San Diego University (which included the College for Men and the School of Law) was founded in July 1949 and merged in 1972 to form the University of San Diego.
University of San Diego History
The university's progress has been aided by the student body, the local community, patrons, alumni, and a variety of organizations. Since the 1972 merger, the university has experienced significant growth in the mid-1980s, as well as in 1998, when Joan B. Kroc, philanthropist, and wife of McDonald's investor Ray Kroc, gifted USD with a $25 million grant for the creation of the Institute for Peace and Justice.

The USD founder's and her fellow religious’ attitude was based on the assumption that learning in beautiful surroundings may improve students' educational experiences. As a result, the university's buildings are fashioned in 16th-century Plateresque architecture, a Spanish Renaissance style that pays homage to both San Diego's Catholic tradition and the Universidad de Alcalá in Spain. University of San Diego Medical services
The University of San Diego has a Students Health Center on campus to assist students with medical services. The center provides all medical services from primary health to emergency. Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants who are nationally board-certified and state-licensed provide a wide range of medical services. Medical care and assistance is also provided by state-licensed registered nurses and certified medical assistants. All services and information related to students' medical insurance are also provided by the center.
