History

Yeshiva University was extended from a small yeshiva institute in 1886, which used to offer some secular education to Jews on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York. It is the institution that combines the knowledge of Western civilization and the rich fortune of Jewish culture. Yeshiva University aids three undergraduate schools, seven graduate and professional schools. Yeshiva University is an institution that looks forward to offering its students various ways to establish their careers and be successful in life. Yeshiva University has been guided by its four presidents namely Dr. Bernard Revel, Dr. Samuel Belkin, Dr. Norman Lamm and Dr. Richard. M. Joel.

University Infrastructure and Services

Campuses-

Yeshiva University has four campuses located in New York. The campuses are- Beren Campus, Brookdale Centre and Wilf Campus (are located in Manhattan), and Resnick Campus (is located in Bronx). Washington Heights, near Manhattan's northern tip, is a historic neighbourhood that has had an energetic Jewish community since the 1930s. The place is home to University's Wilf Campus. The Resnick Campus in the Bronx assists Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.

Libraries-

Yeshiva University libraries engage students actively. University provides a variety of spaces for exchange of knowledge, places for social interaction, for discovery and for learning. The major role of the university library is to orient students within the structure of Literacy for Higher Education, to help students become graceful information seekers, lifelong learners and aware citizens. Yeshiva University takes every step to help students in gaining knowledge and learning.

Housing Services-

Yeshiva University’s office of University Housing and Residence Life (UHRL) helps in providing housing on campus. There is a separate housing option for men and women for the convenience and comfortable stay. Living with other students in the university is one of the most memorable and valuable parts of college life. Students will have the opportunity to make friends for life, will be challenged intellectually and will develop social ties that will help them throughout their life. Living in Yeshiva University housing gives individuals an opportunity to learn, understand and appreciate other people present around them. It is very important to maintain honesty, consideration, mutual respect and communication among each other.

Medical Services-

The health and wellness of students is on top priority of Yeshiva University. The Yeshiva University Office of Student Health assists students by providing medical services. Yeshiva University is partnered with Antidote Health to provide students 24/7 access to qualified physicians through telehealth. Virtual appointments can be made within minutes which provides medical guidance, diagnosis, and prescriptions when needed. This service meets the needs of the majority of student’s medical issues. For those situations in which a physical examination or testing lab is required, many local urgent cares and walk-in clinics are located close to the all campuses.

Joining a club or society is one of the best possible ways to get more out of your time at Yeshiva University. There is a large choice of things to do offered by The Office of Student Life. It provides leadership training, programming assistance and guidance to all upcoming student leaders.  students learn how to represent themselves in a better way, the office of student life offers various clubs, programs and events indicative according to the interests of the students. International Student Support-

The Yeshiva University is home to about many international students from many countries. The Office of International Services (OISS) staff helps international students with visas who are enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs. OISS helps in various ways, guides on immigration status while being in the university and ensures university and student consent with immigration policies. The people working in OISS are-

Student Society-

The societies/clubs or organizations motivates Yeshiva University’s students to enrol themselves in student activities as it is an amazing way of experiencing personal growth, meet new students, share common interests with other students, teachers and staff. The goal of student activities is to help students in developing skills in leadership, event planning and management, decision-making, communication, goal setting, marketing and promotion, but the main purpose is to make an individual's life fun and memorable.

Sports and Fitness-

Joining a sports club is one of the best possible ways to get more out of your time at Yeshiva University. There is a large choice of sports activities offered.

Food and Drinks-

The Department of Dining Services (DDS) works as a part of Yeshiva University. They offer daily meals on all four campuses.  They also operate several stores and vending machines to help students in need. DDS also assists in departmental catering functions. The food menu offers a variety of food choices so that students can enjoy their meals.

Short-term getaways-

There are many options available for weekend getaways within a short drive like Yeshiva University Museum.

Student Safety

The safety of the students, faculty, staff and visitors is one of the top priorities of Yeshiva University. The Department of Security is committed to provide and maintain the public safety services at all campuses. University’s security officers are posted in all University buildings as well as in all residence halls 24 hours/day. The security department also provides additional security on special events.

Scholarships-

The Yeshiva University provides scholarships in everything from academic and research activities to merit-based students. Students are considered for some scholarship programs automatically as part of their admission or financial aid applications. The university awards financial aid of nearly $45 million every year to their students.
