All Saints College has a rich history that can be traced back to its predecessor schools. These include St John's Boys School, which was established in 1838, St Mary’s Dominican Convent School, established in 1867, and the Marist Brothers High School, Maitland, later known as St Peter's High School. In 1990, Bishop Leo Clarke made an important announcement regarding the future of the three local single-sex Catholic high schools. He declared that they would become co-educational and come together as one institution under the name All Saints College. St Joseph's College in Lochinvar and St Peter's would cater to Years 7-10, while St Mary's would accommodate Years 11-12. This new arrangement took effect in 1992. The campuses of St Mary's and St Peter's are located in the heart of Maitland, while St Joseph's is situated approximately eleven kilometers west of Maitland. In 2018, after a thorough study on the provision of Catholic education in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, St Joseph's College in Lochinvar decided to withdraw from All Saints College and operate as an independent Years 7-12 school. Additionally, in 2016, it was announced that the principal of St Peter's Campus, Michael Blake, would be leaving to assume the role of principal at Champagnat College in Pagewood. As a result, All Saints College made the decision to consolidate the school into one campus, which would be St Peter's. Furthermore, plans are underway to convert St Mary's into a university.
