Entry Requirements

Academics
Only a few universities in Australia offer 5 and 6 year MBBS programs that accept students directly after high school. To be eligible, students typically need to achieve a minimum overall score of 90% or A, A, A in A levels, with Chemistry and Biology as mandatory subjects. James Cook University is the only institution that also requires Mathematics as an additional subject.
English Language Proficiency
An IELTS score of 7 overall, with no less than 7 in each module, is required.
Standardized Test
Universities have varying test requirements, such as the ISAT or UCAT ANZ, which can only be taken once per calendar year for the following intake. The ISAT is a computer-based multiple-choice exam focused on critical and quantitative reasoning. Similarly, the UCAT ANZ is a computer-based multiple-choice exam that evaluates students across five areas: abstract reasoning, quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, situational judgment, and decision making.

Interview
Every medical school in Australia conducts a Multi Mini Interview (MMI) for shortlisted candidates as the final stage of the application process. During the MMI, multiple panelists assess various qualities of the student to determine their suitability for becoming a doctor. Most universities place significant emphasis on this interview, with around 50% of the final selection weightage given to the MMI.
Living Cost
The yearly average living cost is between AUD $ 20,000 to AUD $ 26,000 depending on the city you live in.
Deadlines
While deadlines vary by university most applications for the February intake are due between July and September.
