The George Alexander Foundation Scholarship is awarded to the full time undergraduate students pursuing Business and Law, Creative Arts and Communication, Engineering, Health, Science, Social and Cultural Studies, Teaching, and Technology at Murdoch University.
Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines:
To be eligible, an applicant:
- Should be an undergraduate student pursuing Business and Law, Creative Arts and Communication, Engineering, Health, Science, Social and Cultural Studies, Teaching, and Technology at the university.
- Should be an Australian citizen
- Should have graduated from secondary school in the previous two years
- Should have a history of high academic achievement with an achieved ATAR of 80 or higher
- Should have relocated from an inner regional, outer regional, remote, or very remote location
- Should demonstrate examples of personal leadership and/or contributions to the community.
Note: Successful candidates must study full-time internally at Murdoch University and be commencing their first year of tertiary study.

Documents Required:
A personal statement of 750-1000 words describing:
- Academic standing or equivalent industry experience
- The measure of leadership and leadership potential demonstrated in your academic, professional and personal life
- The level and quality of community participation undertaken by the applicant (including volunteering, work history and other extracurricular activities)
- The extent to which the scholarship will make study possible and why you have selected the chosen course.
Completed three year planoutlining how you will develop your skills and work over the duration of the scholarship.
Curriculum Vitae
Two written references – an academic reference from your school and a character reference from someone suitable to comment on your contributions to the community.
Value
Scholarship awards up to $24,000 for accommodation and living expenses in Perth, with students encouraged to consider accommodation at Murdoch University Village.
