The Transilvania Fellowship for Young Researchers is awarded to researchers who do not hold permanent positions at a university or research organization. The scholarships are aimed at stimulating excellence in research, enhance international collaboration, and implement best practices in interdisciplinary research and teaching. The fellowship also aims to increase the number of publications and projects in international competitions and create research networks and international partnerships of the university.
Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines
Applicants are required to secure agreement form of the Head of the Department where they will conduct their activity and the agreement form of the coordinator of the research center for applications that involve the use of the institute facilities and resources.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Science completed in the last 5 years and must not hold a position with any university or research organization. Applicants are also expected to have published at least one article as the main author is a leading Science Journal or publishing house.
It is vital for the candidate to produce two recommendation letters from prominent professors in the field and he/she cannot benefit from any other postdoctoral grant at any other institution.
The recipient is expected to participate in the activities and events of the University’s scientific community and organize lectures or seminars if the fellowship is awarded for more than 6 months.
If the duration of the fellowship awarded is between 3 to 6 months, the recipient should submit at least one article for publication in a prestigious journal.
The recipient is also required to mention the university’s name in every scientific article, document, or patent that resulted during his/her fellowship and it is also mandatory to submit a detailed report of activities carried out by the recipient during a fellowship at the end of fellowship.
Value
This scholarship grants a stipend of 3500 Romanian Leu per month.
Deadline
Applications can be submitted throughout the year. Applications submitted between February and August are evaluated in September and those submitted between September and January are evaluated in February.
Validity
The scholarship is offered for a minimum duration of 3 months to the maximum of 12 months for up to 20 fellows a year.
