Additional Information & Requirements

Entry requirements for A-levels or BTEC programs at our institution range from A-level grades ABB–BBC (equivalent to 128–112 UCAS Tariff points) or BTEC Extended Diploma grades DDM–DMM. Conditional offers for admission are typically within this range. For A-levels, it is mandatory to have a grade C in mathematics and a physical science subject. In the case of BTEC, a merit in further mathematics for engineering techs is required. Regarding the International Baccalaureate, applicants should have a minimum of 28 points, with three subjects studied at the Higher level. These Higher level subjects must include mathematics and physics with a grade 5. If you have completed a recognized foundation course that covers mathematics and physical science, you may be eligible for admission. Unfortunately, access courses are not accepted for entry. For GCSE qualifications, a minimum grade of C or grade 4 is required. Applicants should have at least five GCSEs, including English language, mathematics, and a science subject. Applicants with a foundation degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) may be considered for direct entry into the second year, depending on suitability. If you have previously studied or have relevant experience, it may be taken into account when considering your course at Brighton. This could potentially exempt you from certain course components or allow you to start in the second or third year. In terms of English language proficiency, applicants are required to have an overall IELTS score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each element.
