4 Years On Campus Accelerated-bachelors Program
This comprehensive program offers individuals the chance to explore mechanical engineering at a master's level, providing them with the necessary skills to excel as competent professionals. The accredited course emphasizes the development of technical expertise, as well as management and leadership abilities.
Students will have the opportunity to learn from a team renowned for their international research contributions and engage in projects that both stem from and contribute to this research. The faculty's areas of expertise encompass advanced fluids modeling, computer-aided engineering, propulsion system thermal efficiency, and microgravity research in collaboration with the European Space Agency.
Collaborating with fellow engineering specialists on innovative projects directly relevant to the industry, such as those conducted in the Sustainable Technology and Engineering Projects (STEP) lab, allows students to gain practical experience that closely resembles real-world professional environments. Additionally, placements and guest lectures delivered by industry experts offer valuable insights into the field and valuable networking prospects.
The admission criteria for the program encompass A-levels or BTEC qualifications. The required A-level grades range from ABB to BBC, equivalent to 128 to 112 UCAS Tariff points. Alternatively, applicants with a BTEC Extended Diploma should achieve grades between DDM and DMM. Typically, conditional offers fall within this specified range. For A-level applicants, it is mandatory to have studied mathematics and a physical science. BTEC applicants pursuing engineering technology should have obtained a merit grade in further mathematics. International Baccalaureate applicants are expected to have a minimum of 28 points, with three subjects studied at the Higher level. Mathematics and physics must be taken at the Higher level and achieved at a grade of 5 or higher. In terms of GCSEs, applicants should have at least five GCSEs, with a minimum grade of C or grade 4. These GCSEs must include English language, mathematics, and a science subject. Candidates holding a Foundation degree/HND may be eligible to start the course in the second year, depending on their qualifications. Regarding English language proficiency, a minimum overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is required, with a minimum score of 5.5 in each component.
