This is a 4-year course. During the first 3 years, you will follow an appropriate BSc degree course structure in one of the following: Marine Biology and Zoology BSc. At the end of Year 2, providing a satisfactory mark has been obtained, you continue with Year 3 of the BSc course and proceed to a 4th year specialised course. In Year 4 you carry out a substantial piece of research which forms your Year 4 dissertation. You will be able to work in a staff member s research group and will gain valuable research experience of working in a research environment.
128-152 tariff points including an accepted level 3 qualification* in Biology and usually one other science subject (Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, Psychology), plus Grade C in GCSE Maths, Double Award Science and English. *Level 3 qualifications include A levels, Irish Highers, International Baccalaureate, Welsh Baccalaureate, Scottish Advanced Highers and others, Personal Statement and IELTS of 6.5. Minimum percentage required (12 standard or HSC) 65%.
