Open only to NYU College of Arts and Science students, this accelerated dual-degree program allows you to earn a BA in History and MA in Teaching Social Studies in only five years. You'll take content courses in history and acquire valuable teaching experience at New York City schools. Starting your junior or senior year as an undergraduate, you'll complete fieldwork at a New York City school and take coursework toward your master's degree, reducing the number of credits needed to complete the MA and saving both time and money. Graduates of this dual-degree program are eligible for New York State initial teaching certification in Social Studies for grades 7-12.
