Fairfield University’s Accelerated Second Degree Nursing (ASDNU) program provides a unique opportunity for those with bachelor’s degrees in fields other than nursing to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in an accelerated format.
For over twenty-five years Fairfield University has offered an exceptional second degree nursing program that has now expanded to our two campus locations; Fairfield, CT and Austin, TX. Our full-time accelerated programs are designed to draw upon your prior education and experience, allowing you to earn a second bachelor’s degree in 15 months. Previous knowledge serves as a foundation for nursing courses as you develop the social awareness, critical thinking skills, aesthetic sensibility and values that prepare you to sit and pass the NCLEX nursing licensing exam and enter the field of nursing.
Official transcripts verifying completion of an undergraduate bachelor's degree. Professional Resume. Two Recommendation Forms and Letters. Personal Statement about 500 words. Completed Application for Admission Form. Interviews. Certificate of finances Bank seal and official bank signature is required on bank letterhead. Certified English translations and course-by-course evaluations from approved evaluators of all academic records. TOEFL test results if student's native language is not English composite score of 550 for the paper test, 80 for the Internet based test is recommended, or or IELTS score of 6.5. Measles and Rubella Immunization: Connecticut law requires that students born after December 31, 1956 provide proof of measles and rubella immunization. If you are applying for admission to the Accelerated Second Degree BSN Program and have earned your undergraduate degree outside of the United States, please arrange to submit an evaluation of your coursework for your application file. Hold a bachelor s degree with an earned GPA of 3.0 or higher.
