Program Overview

Undergraduates have the opportunity to work with top-level research scientists in Geology and Marine Geology, conducting intensive field-study and laboratory work of Earth processes and Earth history. By spring of their junior year, students will be initiating an undergraduate thesis as preparation for the M.S. In their senior year, students will increase the focus on graduate courses and work closely with their graduate faculty member.

SAT1 composite score of 1360 or an ACT score of 31 and an unweighted GPA of 3.75., High school transcript, and Dual-Degree Program supplemental application, including the Life Experiences and Personal History Essay sections.Counselor recommendation, Three letters of recommendation from teachers in support of their application to the Dual-Degree Program, and a Personal statement.
