Program Overview

Earth and Atmospheric Sciences is a scientific discipline of critical importance for tackling various major challenges of global and regional concerns in the 21st century in relation to the evolution of the Earth system, including global environmental and climate change, exploration of natural and energy resources, hazard reduction, and sustainable development. In recognition of its fundamental importance, CUHK has recently incorporated this discipline into a new graduate division under the Faculty of Science. The University is now offering a graduate programme on Earth & Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) at both M.Phil. and Ph.D. levels, in parallel with its successful launching of the undergraduate programme in Earth System Science (ESSC) in 2012.
