UFV's two-year Associate of Arts degree with an International and Development Studies option exposes you to essential issues in international development, while also helping you develop cultural awareness. The program provides a rich introduction to the field of International and Development Studies, with a particular focus on Latin America. You explore the historical and political forces that have shaped society and the effects of colonialism on indigenous cultures. You examine and challenge assumptions that affluent nations entertain towards their poorer neighbours. And you learn to understand a wide range of factors affecting international development initiatives including gender, environment, health, education, human rights, fair trade, globalization, and more.
Must completed the equivalent of Canadian Grade 12 (Form Six or five O-levels plus at least two A-levels) or near-equivalent standing, high school transcript(s) and proof of graduation, post-secondary transcript(s) from all institutions attended, IELTS (Academic) - score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum band score of 6.0, TOEFL of 88 or higher (iBT) with no section below 20, CAEL - score of 70, PTE - score of 61 with 60 in writing, MELAB - score of 85, Cambridge - Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) min C, CanTEST - score of 4.5 with a minimum writing score of 4.0
