Program Overview

The Automotive Technologies Program aims to train an expert workforce that can work as an automotive technician to meet the changing and developing needs of the industry. With the completion of the basic courses, the emphasis is placed on the courses related to the field. The applications of the courses are carried out with on-site training in cooperation with the sector. In order to support and reinforce the theoretical and practical knowledge taught in the program, 20 working days of internship and 14 weeks of workplace practical training are obligatory. Students graduating from the department have the opportunity to transfer vertically to programs that provide education through the formal or Distance Education System in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on the Continuation of Undergraduate Education for Graduates of Vocational Schools and Open Education Associate Degree Programs.

Additional Information & Requirements

Successful student is a student with a Semester Grade Point Average and GPA of at least 2.00 and no course to be repeated. A student whose GPA is lower than 1.80 at the end of each semester, except the first semester, must increase his GPA to at least 1.80 in order to be able to take a course that he has not taken before, excluding internship courses and deferred courses. Students in this situation repeat the courses they have taken before until they increase their GPA to the specified level. The semesters in which the students repeat the course are counted from the teaching period. Students with a Semester Grade Point Average and GPA between 3.00-3.49 are considered honor students, and students with a GPA between 3.50-4.00 are considered high honor students, Official high school transcripts, 2 Letters of recommendation, Statement of purpose, Copy of valid Passport, Registration Letter, Health Certificate, Foreign Nationals Exam that is given by Ba kent University and the ones accepted by Ba kent, GCE General Certificate Education, Cambridge International A Level, SAT CR+CW+M: minimum score of 1000 out of 1600 writing included, International Baccalaureate:At least 24 diploma score out of 45, International science olympaids: Having a gold, silver or bronze medal from the International Science Olympiads recognized by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, West African examination council:Minimum 3 subjects in the related area of the applied program for 5 subjects with at least 25 points in total
