Program Overview

Prepare for a major in Computer Science and Software Systems by taking recommended courses to fulfill the requirements of a transfer degree.Computer science is the study of computers and their applications, information processing and the mathematical structures that relate to computation. It analyzes how simple processes (such as algorithms) can be combined to produce substantial, deliberate outcomes through manipulating, organizing, accessing, communicating and encoding information. Computer Science programs require a solid foundation in math and science. B.S. degrees typically require advanced study in math, science, and computer science courses. B.A. programs include basic computer knowledge and skills and often provide opportunities for multidisciplinary studies.The Associate in Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA) is part of Shoreline's General Transfer program and is designed to meet the first two years of requirements of most four-year degrees.
