Civil Engineering Technology graduates are prepared for careers in the civil engineering and surveying fields. As a civil engineering technician, you examine and interpret prints and specifications; confer with contractors and owners to enforce contract specifications, building codes, and zoning ordinances; test soils, asphalt, and concrete and observe and inspect other related construction activities; perform land surveying and computer aided drafting; and observe building, highway and utility construction. With additional education and work experience, you can become a licensed professional in civil engineering, construction superintendent, building inspector, civil designer, construction projects manager, or professional land surveyor
Official copies of high school and/or college academic transcripts, Cumulative high school or college grade point average of 2.6 or higher OR a satisfactory academic skills assessment score. High school background in mathematics, science, and CAD. Proof of English Proficiency ( TOEFL test requirements: 480 (paper-based test), 157(computer-based test), and 54 (Internet-based test). IELTS test requirement: 5.5.), Submission of test scores (Accuplacer 80 , ACT 17, TABE 12.5, COMPASS 77), Students should have mastered basic math skills (whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, measurements).
