Gender and Women's Studies focuses on the study of gender as a central aspect of human existence. Students learn about the system of sex/gender construction, how social categories of gender can structure patterns of power, and how the institutions of family, education, employment, politics and media shape individuals as gendered beings. An interdisciplinary field, Gender and Women's Studies incorporates disciplines such as sociology, economics, political science, anthropology, literature, psychology and more.The Associate in Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA) is part of Shoreline's General Transfer program and is designed to meet the first two years of requirements of most four-year degrees.
Once you complete your Shoreline degree, you can transfer to a four-year school to earn a baccalaureate degree in Gender and Women'sStudies.Itt is also excellent preparation for graduate study in law, education, counseling psychology, social work, medicine and more.
