Program Overview

As a graduate of the Respiratory Therapy program, you re prepared to evaluate, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate patients with chronic and acute diseases of the heart and lungs. Typical careers include hospital staff therapist, pulmonary function technologist, sleep disorder center technician, shift supervisor, department manager, home care therapist/manager, nursing home therapist, respiratory care educator, and medical equipment and supplies sales representative. Respiratory Therapy program graduates are eligible to take the National Board for Respiratory Care Credentialing Examination.

Additional Information & Requirements

Official copies of high school and/or college academic transcripts, Cumulative high school or college grade point average of 3.0 or higher OR a satisfactory academic skills assessment score. Proof of English Proficiency ( TOEFL test requirements: 480 (paper-based test), 157(computer-based test), and 54 (Internet-based test). IELTS test requirement: 5.5.), Submission of test scores (Accuplacer 90 , ACT 21, TABE 12.6, COMPASS 87), Two semesters High School, or one semester in College of Algebra and Advanced Math, completed with a C or better. Two semesters High School, or one semester in College of Biology and Chemistry (with a lab component) completed with a grade of C or better, Complete an American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR course.
