Program Overview

The Bachelor of Film and Television (3 Year Program) at Bond University is a highly practical degree for students who want to turn their passion for storytelling into a career in film, television and screen media. Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Build your filmmaking foundations through subjects such as Screenwriting Short Fiction, Screen Style and Storytelling, and Live Television Broadcasting. Students learn how stories are developed for the screen while gaining practical experience in writing, production and live television.

Year 2: Take your technical and creative skills further through subjects such as Directing Actors, Cinematography Style and Design, and Screen Editing. Students gain hands-on experience with professional production techniques while developing their own visual and storytelling style.

Year 3: Bring your skills together through advanced production work, including Advanced Cinematic Storytelling, Advanced Screen Business (Project Development), and the Graduation Screen Project. Students develop and produce ambitious screen projects that help build a professional portfolio for entering the industry.

Focus Areas: Directing, screenwriting, cinematography, producing, editing, sound design, production design, documentary filmmaking, television broadcasting and visual storytelling.

Film & TV Equipment: Access industry-grade cameras, lighting and sound equipment through Bond’s Equipment Loan Store for your own film and production projects.
Digital TV & Sound Studios: Create professional-quality work using a fully equipped three-camera digital television studio and Pro Tools 5.1 HD audio mixing suites.
Hands-On Film Projects: Work on numerous productions throughout the degree, taking on different creative and technical roles while building practical filmmaking experience and a professional showreel.
