Program Overview

The Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship & Innovation) at the University of Canberra is designed for individuals with an interest in launching start-ups or driving change within existing organisations. Offered by the Canberra Business School, this program builds essential capabilities in creativity, business sustainability, commercialisation, and global competitiveness. It focuses on the skills required to create, manage, and grow innovative enterprises in both public and private sectors.

  • Year 1: Business Decision Making, Introduction to Economics, Introduction to Management, Business Research Methods, Small Business Management 

  • Year 2: Entrepreneurship in Government and Large Organisations, The Entrepreneurial Mind - Foundations of Entrepreneurship, Creative and Critical Thinking for Problem Solving, Contemporary Issues: Future of Business, Innovation Management, along with electives

  • Year 3: Social Enterprise, Industry Project, Professional Evidence, along with electives

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

  • On-campus WIL: Industry case studies, guest speakers, internships, placements, co-working opportunities (e.g., Entry 29), and social enterprise incubators (The Mill House)

  • Virtual WIL: Guest lectures, industry projects, online competitions and events

  • Internships and International Business Study Tour available (some require in-person participation)

  • Access to real-world case studies, exhibitions, and entrepreneurial accelerators

  • Flexible course design supports further study in business administration, commercialisation, and policy

Progression & Future Opportunities

  • Excellent pathway for future founders or innovation-focused corporate roles

  • Eligible students can progress to Bachelor of Business, Government and Policy (Honours) or Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours)

  • Credit transfers available from TAFE, CIT, and selected international institutions
