Bachelor of Business (International Business)

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Queensland University of Technology

Program Overview

This degree blends a three‑year Bachelor of Business core with a full year of compulsory international study. You’ll not only develop solid business foundations, but also immerse yourself in a global context. It’s perfect for students who want to build intercultural skills and work confidently across borders — whether in multinational firms, trade, consulting, or entrepreneurial ventures.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1:
In your first year, you’ll lay the groundwork in business through core units like accounting, economics, marketing, and management, while also starting introductory units in your chosen major. This approach gives you a broad understanding of business functions, while letting you begin specializing early.

Year 2:
In the second year, you’ll dive deeper into your major. For example, if you choose International Business, you might study global trade, logistics, or cross-cultural negotiation. You’ll also tackle more advanced core units, blending theory with real-world frameworks so you can understand how businesses operate internationally.

Year 3 (Abroad):
This is your “international year.” You’ll spend a semester or more at one of the university’s partner institutions across roughly 33 countries. During this time, you’ll take a unit called Bridging Cultures – International, which helps you reflect on and strengthen your intercultural communication and negotiation skills before, during, and after your overseas experience.

Year 4:
Back in Brisbane (or online), you’ll complete remaining core and major units while choosing from optional electives or a second major/minor. The degree offers flexibility with seven optional units, allowing you to deepen your expertise or explore new areas based on your career goals.
