Program Overview

Mechanical engineers analyse, conceptualise, design and manufacture items from the very small (such as micro machines) to the very large (such as aircraft). Mechanical engineers are central to the production of almost every item that we use. Completion of this stream as part of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) will prepare you for a career in mechanical engineering. The degree prepares you by delivering a strong foundation in basic sciences, statics, dynamics, mechanics of solids, thermofluids and materials. It offers advanced options in manufacturing, novel materials, and micro-scale devices.

IELTS of 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each band, or equivalent, GCE A level with 2 passes, IB of 18, Higher Secondary Certificate (Year 12), 50% average in best 4 academic subjects, OWA of 55-66%, Completion of WASSC/SSC with B grade average in 5 relevant academic subjects, ATAR of 80, HSC Mathematics General 2 (or equivalent)
