Bachelor of Engineering Honours in Mechanical Engineering

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of New South Wales

Program Overview

Any design you can dream of can be brought to reality by a mechanical engineer. Very specifically, they use mechanical power to operate machines and tools, and then use these to develop things. Anything really, from water bottles to cars to computers to fishing reels. In fact, mechanical engineers play a role in most of the things that people drive, play with or live in. This degree teaches you how to design and manage the construction, operation and maintenance of machines used in many industries. In the second and third year, you take specialised mechanical engineering courses including fluid dynamics, mechanics of solids, thermodynamics and heat transfer. You will also learn computer-aided design and undertake design projects. To get you work ready, you'll apply your skills through 60 days of approved industry training.
