Linguistics is the study of human language, its uses and applications in human society. It covers topics such as Phonetics (the sounds of language), Grammar/syntax (the way we put sentences together), and Semantics (the meaning of language). In a Bachelor of Arts Linguistics, you can specialise in one or more strands of linguistics including A systematic functional grammar and analysis of grammar and meaning; A social and cultural/ anthropological approach to language study and Applied linguistics and speech Hearing sciences.
