4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Queensland University of Technology

Program Overview

The course is taught by registered professionals and the content has been designed in consultation with clinical staff from radiation therapy departments. Your studies will cover the interaction of radiation on body tissue, radiation therapy treatment planning using clinical software, and treatment delivery in a virtual environment. Professional placement will begin during your first year of study. Placements are offered in private and public radiation therapy departments in metro and regional areas throughout Queensland, and in some interstate sites. Significant periods of supervised placement begin in second year. The on-campus simulation facilities feature virtual and hands-on equipment, including the Virtual Environment for Radiotherapy Training a training platform that uses 3D technology to immerse students in a virtual treatment room. The computer facilities allow you to become competent in the use of computerised treatment planning systems used by radiation therapy departments.
