University of New South Wales

Program Overview

A major in Visual Art: Studio Practices engages students with the multidisciplinary possibilities of contemporary art making, with a focus on studio production. Studio learning is expanded and contextualised through complementary courses in art history and theory, which promote conceptual problem-solving and critical thinking. Students are encouraged to actively experiment with materials, analogue and digital technologies, conceptual development and context. This mode of creative inquiry prepares students to flexibly mix and apply their skills in an open and cross-disciplinary manner.
