KU Leuven

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Business Engineering is designed for students who want to understand how modern businesses work and make data-driven decisions that actually move organizations forward. This program uniquely combines business economics, quantitative methods, and technology to give you a competitive edge in today's complex corporate environment.

Curriculum Structure

First Year: Building Your Foundation

Your first year establishes the essential groundwork across multiple disciplines. You'll take foundational courses like Economics 1 and Mathematics for Business Engineers 1, which teach you how economic systems function and provide the quantitative skills you'll need throughout the program. You'll also complete Financial Accounting A and B to understand how businesses track and manage their finances, alongside Marketing to explore how companies connect with customers. These courses create the bedrock for all your specialized work ahead.

Second and Third Years: Deep Specialization

In your second and third years, you'll immerse yourself in specialized courses across core business domains like accountancy, financial management, operations management, and strategic management. Beyond mastering these business disciplines, you'll sharpen your analytical capabilities by learning the mathematical and statistical techniques needed to analyze real business problems and develop optimal solutions. Through assignments, projects, and close collaboration with actual organizations—including management projects and a bachelor's thesis—you'll develop practical management competencies and entrepreneurship skills.

Focus Areas

Advanced quantitative analysis, business economics, financial management, operations optimization, strategic decision-making, and technology integration.

Learning Outcomes

You'll master how to understand and optimize business decisions across all major domains (finance, accounting, marketing, logistics, human resources), use data analysis and mathematical modeling to make informed decisions, develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and gain insight into the economic, legal, and social landscape surrounding businesses.

Professional Alignment
