The vision of the UGent African Studies programme is based on following guiding principles: offering excellent academic knowledge on African languages and cultures, by means of a study programme built on three pillars, i.e. African Languages, African Cultures and Language, Culture and Society in Africa;To have an understanding of African linguistics: language families, several African language structures, and the history of the discipline.
