1 CoursesBs in economics in Ghent university
The training programme is geared towards the study of social-economic interactions between a variety of different economic actors: households, businesses, financial institutions, the public authorities, other countries. Students are to have an in-depth understanding of the way in which these actors arrive at their decisions and the nature of the implications of the actions issuing therefrom. This requires a thoroughgoing analytical and quantitative foundation, with theoretical understandings being duly tested against reality through empirical work and a critical insight into the institutional environment. Economists are to be duly capable of analysing the impact of the economic choices made, founding their arguments in an appropriately scientifically and socially critical manner.
