Program Overview

Sociology is the study of societies, social life, and social change. It investigates social, cultural and demographic issues in Canada and around the world. Topics covered include: sexuality, popular culture, inequality, migration, race, ethnicity, class, gender, values, health, family dynamics, law, social movements, institutions, and community. By combining this with Communication, Media and Film, you will be at the centre of exploring the most dynamic changes in our increasingly complex media landscape as well as the broader cultural, social, economic and political implications of contemporary and emergent technologies. Our program blends theory and practice, and teaches you the skills necessary to interpret and critically engage our media-saturated world.
