4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Program Overview

Offered collaboratively by the Beedie School of Business and the Department of Philosophy, this unique interdisciplinary program allows students to pursue either a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or a Bachelor of Arts (BA). The program examines the critical intersections between business practices, ethical reasoning, and legal frameworks, preparing students for complex professional environments and graduate study.

It is ideal for students who want to understand how legal and ethical systems shape business conduct and public policy, and who are considering law school, policy work, consulting, or executive roles in governance and compliance.

  • Choose a BBA (Beedie) or BA (Philosophy) credential based on your academic focus

  • Explores the interplay of business strategy, ethics, and legal reasoning

  • Develops skills in logic, analysis, critical thinking, and corporate social responsibility

Course Overview:
Lower Division (Years 1–2):

  • Core business courses: accounting, economics, marketing, organizational behavior

  • Philosophy foundations: critical thinking, logic, ethics, political philosophy

  • Law-relevant electives: philosophy of law, legal institutions, moral theory

  • Fulfillment of W (writing) and Q (quantitative) SFU core requirements

Upper Division (Years 3–4):

  • Advanced coursework in law and policy, law and justice, and seminar

  • In-depth philosophy modules: mathematics, language, and mind

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

  • Access to SFU Co-op Program with placements in law firms, consultancies, and public sector

  • Applied learning in business ethics, corporate governance, and legal analysis

  • Research opportunities in philosophy and legal theory

  • Career support via Beedie Career Management Centre and Philosophy Department advising
