University of WindsorThe University of Windsor offers a four-year Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Mechanical Engineering – Automotive Option that provides students with a strong foundation in mechanical principles along with specialized knowledge in the automotive sector. Organization of Curriculum:
The Automotive Option in Mechanical Engineering at Windsor combines serious academic studies with practical work. The curriculum includes:
• Engineering Core Requirements: Mathematical, physics, chemistry, and initial engineering design basics.
• Mechanical Engineering Core: Fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, dynamics, control systems, and manufacturing processes.
• Automotive Engineering Specialisation: Advanced courses in internal combustion engines, automotive design, vehicle dynamics, and innovative automotive technologies like electric and autonomous vehicles.
• Laboratory and Design Experience: Laboratory and workshop practice, project work, and group design projects.
• Final Year Capstone Project: A major group work project that involves students applying their knowledge to solve real-life engineering issues.
