Earth Science is concerned with the origin, evolution and structure of Earth (and other planets), through the analysis of physical, chemical and biological processes. You'll study within two main fields of earth science: environmental geoscience and geology. SFU's location makes it an ideal location for a strong field-based component in your degree. You'll visit many local geological environments, ranging from glaciers to volcanoes, and active river systems to tsunami sites. The Earth Sciences major program in the Faculty of Science also offers a forestry geoscience certification. You can start this program at the Surrey campus.
Competence in Quantitative and Analytical skills, a minimum of 50% in Senior Mathematics for admission (based on a 35% pass scale), All India Senior School Certificate / Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) / India School Certificate (12 year), transcript which includes interim standard XII level marks, TOEFL iBT of 88 with 20 in each of the four components , IELTS of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0, CAEL of 70, PTE Academic with an overall score of 65, and a minimum score of 60 in the Communicative Skills, including: Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing, each lower division required course in mathematics and statistics, or its equivalent, with a minimum C+ grade, ACMA 101 and ACMA 210 with a minimum grade of C- and have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.70
