Honours Bachelor of Arts American Studies

The American Studies program provides students with a broad, yet deep, education about the United States. Students are required to take an interdisciplinary core course that ranges widely both with respect to the themes covered and disciplinary perspectives applied. The graduate program in American Studies provides rigorous yet flexible training in a range of theoretical perspectives and research methodologies building on the interdisciplinary history of our scholarly pursuit. American Studies offers the promise of a sustained education in what it is to live in this twenty-first century American world in a polyglot, heterogeneous, racially divided, corporate dominated, politically emaciated but culturally rich and constitutionally complex, pluralistic but highly unequal world.
